The Edit (“we,” “us”) is a personal styling app that helps you plan outfits from your own wardrobe. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using The Edit you agree to this policy.
To create styling suggestions, your wardrobe images and related data are sent to our AI providers (Anthropic; and OpenAI only if you use virtual try-on) at the moment a suggestion is generated. These providers process the data to return a result and, under their commercial API terms, do not use it to train their models. Your body try-on photo is sent only when you request a try-on and is never used for training. If you use photo-based colour analysis, the photo of your face is sent to Anthropic only at the moment you request it, is processed solely to estimate your colour palette, is never used for training, and is not retained — we store only the resulting palette, never the image.
We share data only with vendors that help us run the service, under contract:
Some shopping links in the app are affiliate links. If you buy through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Tapping a shop link takes you to a third-party retailer whose own privacy practices then apply; product prices and availability are controlled by the retailer, not by us.
We use a single essential, secure session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time in Settings. Deletion is immediate with a 30-day recovery window, after which your account, wardrobe photos, and associated data are permanently removed from our systems.
Depending on where you live (including under GDPR and CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to object to certain processing. You can exercise most of these directly in the app, or contact us at [email protected].
We use encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access controls, and reputable cloud infrastructure. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data.
The Edit is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, with appropriate safeguards.
We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll revise the effective date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app or by email.
